Vartika Manasvi

Director, Startups · MaRS Discovery District

Waterloo, Canada

Vartika "V" Manasvi is a two-time exit entrepreneur, angel investor and startup ecosystem builder based in Canada's Waterloo region, and founder of the StackRaft tech talent platform.

Work and impact

Manasvi founded and exited two companies — a hyperlocal social network she sold in 2017 and StackRaft, a global tech talent platform that helped Canadian companies hire engineers from international markets, which she sold to a Los Angeles venture studio. She has since worked on the ecosystem side of Canadian tech, holding a Director, Startups role at MaRS Discovery District and advising or mentoring founders through DMZ, Communitech, NASSCOM and Seedstars. She also runs her own thesis-driven, community-run angel syndicate, Sovereign Internet and Identity, which pools capital to back founders working on digital identity and decentralized internet ideas. An MBA with roughly 15–18 years of product, marketing and commercialization experience across India, Singapore, Dubai, Egypt, the US and Canada, she is a frequent speaker and writer on the future of work, ethical AI and universal basic income.

Canadian story

Manasvi moved to Canada in 2018 on a startup visa supported by the Government of Alberta via Platform Calgary, after first arriving in Toronto on a visitor visa with no local network. Her Canadian breakthrough came when she landed her first customer in Waterloo at Communitech's True North event, and she has since built her career inside Canadian innovation hubs including Communitech, DMZ and MaRS, and is currently based in the Waterloo area.
