Nenone Donaldson leads advancement and alumni relations at the University of Waterloo, where she arrived in 2004 as one of the institution's first Faculty-based fundraisers.
Worth knowing
She has raised money for higher education since 1998 and knows how philanthropic support gets built around engineering research, students and campus priorities. She is the person who connects donors and alumni to the University of Waterloo, and who speaks for the institution to its graduates. Alumni, prospective donors and anyone looking to partner with Waterloo should get in touch.
Story
Nenone has been a professional fundraiser since 1998. She joined Waterloo's Faculty of Engineering in 2004, during Campaign Waterloo, when putting fundraisers inside individual faculties was still new to the university. She spent the better part of two decades there, becoming Senior Director, Engineering Advancement, before taking the university-wide role on January 1, 2022. She now sets the strategy for fundraising and alumni relations across Waterloo and leads the teams that carry it out.
