Marc Gardiner lead software engineering at Camis, the Guelph company whose reservation platform runs more than 500 parks, campgrounds, harbors and marinas across North America.
Worth knowing
Marc has spent eighteen years in one demanding niche, building SaaS that government agencies trust with public bookings and PCI-compliant payments at seasonal peak volumes. He knows how parks and recreation authorities buy software and what it takes to keep a platform reliable when a campground season opens.
Story
Marc joined Camis in 2008, the year he finished his Computing and Information Science degree, and never left the category. The company's platform handles reservations and park management for public and privately operated sites, which means payments, peak-season load and the accountability that comes with serving government clients. He became Director of Software Engineering in 2016, and still builds from Guelph, the city where he studied.
Canadian story
Grew up in Brantford, Ontario and moved to Guelph, Ontario, to complete my BS in Computing and Information Science at the University of Guelph. Found a local software role in the GovTech recreation space and spent the next 18 years growing my domain expertise in that category.
