Richa Joshi is a partnerships and community development leader who brings together organizations, people, and ideas to create practical solutions. With a background spanning architecture, business, economic development, newcomer integration, and community building, she is especially passionate about creating stronger pathways to belonging.
Work and impact
Richa currently serves as Director of Partnerships at Sparrow, where she builds partnerships with colleges and universities, newcomer and refugee-serving organizations, employers, community groups, and other organizations supporting people through transitions. Her work focuses on connecting people with shared-living housing options and building partnerships around a simple idea: housing is often one of the first steps toward stability and belonging. Previously, at the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, Richa led the Newcomer Hub, an IRCC-funded initiative connecting newcomers with employers, skills development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and community networks. She has also worked across architecture, business development, sales, and community partnerships in India, Japan, and Canada.
Canadian story
Richa came to Canada in 2017 after previously living and working in India and Japan. She built her Canadian life in Sarnia-Lambton, where professional opportunities, community involvement, and relationships gradually turned a new country into home. Now a proud Canadian citizen, she remains deeply connected to her Indian heritage and believes that belonging does not require leaving one identity behind to embrace another. Her own journey across countries, careers, and communities continues to shape how she approaches her work: with curiosity, mutual respect, and a belief that strong communities are built through meaningful human connections.
