He took a category nobody was serving, senior care software, and proved a Canadian SaaS company could own it across North America, scaling past 2,000 employees and a multi-billion dollar valuation. He also advises Ontario on how health data should be governed, and mentors founders scaling Canadian tech companies.
Story
Mike co-founded PointClickCare with his brother Dave in 2000 and bet on an idea the long-term care industry had not tried: putting the electronic health record in the cloud. It was the first SaaS EHR platform the post-acute market had seen, and he ran the company as CEO from its founding through 2021, out of Mississauga. In 2021 he moved to Executive Chair and Dave took over as CEO. Mike now spends his time on the board, on health data policy in Ontario, and on the next generation of Canadian founders.
