Lee Smith

Worth knowing

Lee knows how live shopping actually sells, from the China and Southeast Asia markets where it grew into a trillion-dollar habit, and he is now putting that playbook to work for Canadian brands in beauty, apparel, home, pets, kids, food and wellness. He is the person to call if you run a Canadian consumer brand looking for a domestic channel, or want to understand live commerce before betting on it.

Story

Lee began among marketing technology startups, then spent 18 years in Singapore working with brands on live shopping and commerce technology across China and Southeast Asia. Back in Toronto, he leads Buy Canadian Group Inc., which launched Shoppa.ca in 2026, and he has taken the case for buying Canadian to national television. Alongside the marketplace he runs Stickler.live, a live commerce consultancy and partner business.

In Lee's words

Born in Canada and worked amongst the startups in Marketing Technology. I recently returned to Canada after 18 years in Singapore helping brands embrace Live Shopping and commerce technology from China through Southeast Asia. What a seismic shift in commerce in Asia, now just passing the $Trillion point. I'm now bringing that experience to Canada through our all Canadian marketplace Shoppa.ca as well as a Live Commerce consultancy and partner business Stickler.live.
