Kim Fennell

Kim has run three companies as CEO, taken one through an acquisition by one of the Valley's most aggressive buyers, and now sits in the boardrooms of TSX- and NYSE-listed businesses, so he knows both how a deal gets done and how governance works after it. He has been opening Silicon Valley doors for Canadian founders for 15 years.

Story

Kim is from Oakville, Ontario, and built a 35-year career as a Silicon Valley executive, leading Pinnacle Systems and StorageWay before taking over deCarta, a location-based services software platform. When Uber bought the company, 30 of its 40 people went with it, Kim among them. He stayed five years, leaving in late 2019 as Head of Product Partnerships and Business Development for the US and Canada. He has also served as Chief Business Officer at Robot.com. From Los Gatos he now works as a Venture Partner with True North Fund, a Canadian growth-stage venture fund, alongside angel investing and advisory work. Through C100 he has spent 15 years connecting Canadian entrepreneurs to the Valley.
