Trevor Adey
Co-Founder & General Partner · McVestCo (also associated with Trimac Transportation and 80VC)
Trevor Adey co-founded McVestCo to back freight and logistics technology, after building a St.
Worth knowing
He has sold enterprise software to carriers on three continents from a base in Newfoundland, run digital transformation inside one of North America's large bulk trucking fleets, and now writes cheques into supply chain startups. That combination means he can tell a founder whether a logistics product will survive contact with real operators.
Story
Trevor grew up in the Newfoundland tech scene, joining satellite communications firm Stratos as its first sales employee in 1993 and leaving as a vice-president. In 1996 he co-founded Consilient Technologies in St. John's with Rod White, and by 2001 its software was in the hands of New York firefighters coordinating the response at the Twin Towers. After Consilient he moved to Ericsson as vice-president of partnering, working out of San Francisco and Dallas, then into trucking as VP of Trimac Digital, speaking publicly on driver shortages and what technology could actually fix. In 2020 he and Jeffrey McCaig started McVestCo. He now invests in freight and logistics software from Bozeman, Montana, and is also behind 80VC, focused on the digital future of supply chain.
