Kate knows how money reaches Ontario's angel groups and how to write the proposals that unlock it, from FedDev Ontario to the Ontario Securities Commission's Designated Fund. She has also built the education side of that world, launching an e-learning platform for angel investors and seed-stage founders. Story

Kate studied at Waterloo and the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor, then joined Angel Investors Ontario while finishing a Master of Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Queen's Smith School of Business. She started on program delivery and became Vice President of Business Development and Operations, publishing the organization's 15th anniversary magazine to a 35,000-person audience and partnering the group with PitchScore. She now directs operations at OneEleven, the Toronto innovation hub founded in 2013 with OMERS Ventures, Ontario Centres of Excellence and Ryerson University, with sites in Toronto, Ottawa and London, England. Alongside that work she has built two 40-person career service cohorts for new refugees to Canada, backed by $37K in sponsor prizes for business pitch competitions.
