Joseph Fung has founded three Waterloo software companies, including TribeHR, which NetSuite acquired in 2013, and now coaches founders through growth at Communitech.
Story
A University of Waterloo computer engineering graduate, Joseph started Simple Machines, an open-source community sharing HR, strategy and organizational development resources, before turning that interest into software. He co-founded TribeHR in Kitchener, and after NetSuite bought it he stayed four years as VP of HCM Products, leading the Payroll and SuitePeople lines and the Canadian development team. He went back to building with Kiite, a sales enablement platform, then co-founded Uvaro with his siblings in 2019, a tech sales career accelerator that has raised roughly $15.5 million CAD. He still lives and works in Kitchener, plays clarinet and piano, and sits on the board of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.
