Jennifer Kemp

Worth knowing

She has carried country CMO responsibility for Japan at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and global marketing leadership at Cisco, covering digital, field and channel marketing, and she has managed change inside traditional Japanese workplaces. Canadian companies weighing a move into Japan or Asia Pacific, and founders who need senior marketing leadership without a full-time hire, should get in touch.

Story

Jennifer studied International Relations and Economics at the University of Toronto, then built her career abroad. She ran regional client work on the Pfizer account at Omnicom Accelerator in Japan, then moved into performance marketing for IBM Japan's partner organization. Along the way she designed and led HPE's global women's mentoring program in Japan. Since 2022 she has run Kemp & Co. from Toronto. She stays close to the two markets she knows best, Japan and France, and is part of the Canadian Women's International Network at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada.

In Jennifer's words

After spending a year of high school in Japan as a Rotary International exchange student and graduating from UofT with a double major in International Relations & Economics, I built an international career spanning 18+ years in Japan and including three years at IBM’s New York headquarters. Throughout my career, I’ve held global, regional and country leadership roles, working across markets and cultures to drive growth. Now back in Canada, I’m exploring opportunities to bring that experience to Canadian businesses looking to scale internationally.
