Gabriel Sundaram co-founded Attain after helping back more than 200 early-stage startups from the founding investment team at Montreal's Real Ventures.
Worth knowing
He has built two Montreal marketplaces from the operator's seat, running growth, product and go-to-market at Bus.com and then as COO of Mission.dev, and he knows the early-stage investor side just as well from years of writing first cheques and running an accelerator. He is now building consumer fintech for the US market.
Story
Gabriel studied at Concordia and started out in venture, joining Real Ventures early enough to shape how the fund and its FounderFuel accelerator worked with founders across product, go-to-market, data and fundraising. He crossed over to operating at Bus.com, the Montreal bus rental marketplace, spending about four years there as Head of Growth and Product and then COO. He went on to co-found Mission.dev, a marketplace matching companies with senior software and product engineers. He remains a steady voice on Quebec's tech community, from Startupfest stages to the community bid to buy back Notman House, and now builds Attain, a US consumer fintech, from Montreal.
