He has taken a Montreal enterprise software company from founding to a nine-figure exit, raising more than $20 million along the way and signing commercial partnerships with AT&T, Google, Amazon, Samsung and Microsoft. He also chairs Quebec's angel network, which makes him one of the shortest paths to early capital in the province. Story

Frederic trained as an electrical engineer in telecommunications at Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and was part of the management team at Blueslice Networks, the Montreal startup sold to Tekelec in 2010. Two years later he founded Mnubo with Jean-Charles Beaudin to make sense of data from connected machines, grew it to more than 60 IoT and AI specialists, and opened a Tokyo office in 2018 to serve the Japanese market. In 2022 he co-founded Amiral Ventures with Dominic Becotte and Nectarios Economakis. The fund reached a $40-million first close in 2025 toward a $75-million target, anchored by Investissement Quebec with Desjardins Capital writing the first cheque, and plans to back about 15 companies. Early investments include Maxa and the AI architecture platform Maket.
