David has built, grown and sold Canadian digital media businesses, and he knows the wiring underneath them: how publishers make money from inventory, which ad tech is worth the spend, and who to call on the brand, agency and platform side in both Canada and the US. Story

David launched Standard Interactive in 2005 as the digital network for Standard Broadcasting, then Canada's largest private broadcaster, before its $1.3 billion sale to Astral Media. Around 2008 he started Cue Digital Media, an online media sales agency for audience-first publishers, opened a Montreal office in 2017, and sold the business at the end of 2020, one of the largest independent digital media companies in the country. He founded Wired Carbon in Toronto in 2014 and runs it with co-founder Napoleon Torres, handling ad operations, technology and digital media for publishers and brands. In 2023 he started Digital Day Camp with Rob Beeler, bringing publishing education to the Canadian marketing community; the Toronto editions keep selling out, and two more are set for Fall 2026 and NYC in Dec, 2026.
