Chris Hobbs spent 16 years building Vancouver software studio TTT Studios from three people to an exit, and now advises founders through Ahead by a Century.
Worth knowing
He has shipped custom software for more than 200 clients across over 20 industries, so he knows what a digital product actually costs to build and where outsourced teams go wrong. He has also run Vancouver's largest iOS developer community and interviews Canadian founders about how they scaled. Founders scoping a build, or choosing a development partner, should get in touch.
Story
Chris studied at the University of British Columbia and started TTT Studios, then called Two Tall Totems, in Vancouver in 2010 with his twin brother David, who ran operations. Three people became a studio serving clients worldwide, and the run ended with an exit in 2024. He now works as Founder and Principal at Ahead by a Century in Vancouver, and hosts AfternoonT, a podcast of interviews with the founders of some of Canada's most successful companies. He has also founded Study Guide Systems, Incusight Education and Liftpasses.com.
