Aron Jones

Worth knowing

Aron has taken products from a blank repository to real scale four times over, in consumer fintech, retail marketplaces and institutional debt software, and he has raised from Canadian venture investors and run an equity crowdfunding round open to retail Canadians. He now builds AI systems that carry software tickets from planning through verification.

Story

Aron has built in Toronto since 2011, starting as CTO of Connectsy and co-founding Hipsell, a real-time classifieds app that raised seed money from Mantella Venture Partners. Next came Shopcaster, which he co-founded with Judy Sims and Matt O'Leary to get small physical retailers selling online; it expanded from Toronto into Vancouver, Montreal and the US. With O'Leary again, he spent two and a half years on Treasure Card, teaching kids to manage money through a debit card and app. He then went inside larger fintech, leading product and engineering for a newly acquired startup at Wealthsimple, before joining HighFi as founding engineer and becoming its head of product and engineering.

Canadian story

Multi-time technical founder, with lots of zero-to-one experience in product and engineering. Recently very obsessed with AI harness development and software factory tooling.
