Chief Program Officer · NEXT Canada

Toronto, Canada

Alexandra McGregor runs all three of NEXT Canada's flagship programs, Next 36, Next Founders and NextAI, and has done it after rising through the organization from Program Officer.

Worth knowing

She decides how Canada's most ambitious young founders are selected and coached, and she has worked directly with the teams behind Knix, ChargeLab and Voiceflow. Few people have met more early-stage Canadian founders at the moment they are deciding what to build. Write to her if you are a founder looking for a program, or an investor or mentor who wants to be close to the next cohort.

Story

Alexandra started out in the non-profit sector, coordinating national programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada around community engagement and youth development, then moved to the Fraser Institute as a Program Manager working on organizational strategy and policy. She joined NEXT Canada as a Program Officer and moved up through Program Manager and Director of Programs to Chief Program Officer in 2019. Today she oversees the Toronto and Montreal accelerator NextAI alongside Next 36 and Next Founders, and runs the selection process that picks each year's founders, including the National Selection Weekend for Next 36 candidates.
