Sydney Morin

Professional ice hockey defender · Minnesota Frost (PWHL)

Sidney Morin is the first defender in PWHL history to score four goals in a single playoff series, and a 2018 Olympic gold medalist on the blue line.

Worth knowing

Sidney has played the women's game at nearly every level it exists: NCAA, the Olympics, three clubs across Switzerland and Sweden, and both North American pro leagues. She knows how European women's hockey is run and how players move between those leagues and the PWHL. Worth a call for anyone building teams, leagues or brands in women's sport.

Story

Born in Minnetonka, Sidney played four seasons for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, finishing with 70 points in 147 games. Gold at PyeongChang came in 2018, one of seven defenders on the United States roster. Then she went abroad for five seasons, with HC Ladies Lugano in Switzerland and HV71 and Linköping HC in Sweden, before returning to sign with the Minnesota Whitecaps in 2022. Two years with Boston followed, where she put up 12 points in 54 regular-season games. In 2025 she came home: the Minnesota Frost signed her through 2026-27, the first player they brought in that offseason from outside the roster.
