Story

Lucas trained and qualified as a CPA, then left audit for Moshi, Tanzania, where he developed and launched the Anza 360 business accelerator and ran it as Managing Director from 2016. Back in Toronto, he joined MaRS Discovery District, first managing international partnerships for the B2B SaaS portfolio and later leading enterprise partnerships. He moved to StandUp Ventures, the Toronto fund founded in 2017 to invest in women-led companies, and now invests at pre-seed and seed across Canada and the US. Recent deals include Indiegraf's $2.2M seed round in Vancouver and Velix's $2M pre-seed in Montreal.
