She has sat on both sides of the table: writing early cheques from New York venture firms, then scaling business operations and strategy inside a climate startup through its hardest growth years. She knows how US investors read a Canadian company, and she has taken board seats and observer roles with consumer, marketplace and retail tech founders.
Story
Claire was born and raised in Toronto, studied commerce at Dalhousie, and began her career in equity capital markets at Credit Suisse before a stint as an investment analyst at Jacana Partners. New York came next, and stayed for a decade: first at Alpaca VC, then as a Principal at Highland Capital Partners, where she wrote and worked alongside early-stage founders. In 2021 she crossed over to operating, joining Running Tide to build its business operations and strategy function and rising to Senior Vice President. She returned to Canada in 2025, joining Brightspark Ventures and taking a hand in the country's tech community as co-chair of the CIX Summit.
