Chuck Teixeira
Founder and CEO · WCKD RZR
Chuck Teixeira left a Managing Director's seat at HSBC in 2019 to found WCKD RZR, the London company selling enterprise data privacy software to regulated industries.
Worth knowing
He has sat on the buying side of bank technology, building a data lake and moving data to the cloud at HSBC while working with outside fintech firms, so he knows how these deals are judged and who signs them. He has also run restructurings through regulatory pressure, including LIBOR remediation at Barclays.
Story
Chuck trained as a Canadian chartered accountant and started out consulting at PwC before moving into capital markets operations, first as Chief Administrative Officer for European Equities at Lehman Brothers, then integrating two divisions through the Nomura period and being asked to move to New York to build out the US equities business. From there came Barclays, where he was Global COO of Client Capital Management and led a strategic review of treasury, funding, liquidity and Asset Liability Management, and then four years at HSBC running transformation for Global Banking and Markets. In November 2019 he left banking. WCKD RZR shipped its first product, Data Watchdog, and raised $1.2 million in pre-seed funding from angels the following year. He runs it from London.
